Throughout the development of the world of clarinet art, there are two most popular clarinet instruments so far, namely the German style clarinet (Oehler system) and the French style (Bhem system) clarinet. Although the contemporary German style clarinet is far less widely used than the French clarinet, the German-Austrian music in its artistic works has a pivotal position in the classical music works.
Our popular German style clarinet is called the Euler system, which is based on the Müller system, adding sound holes and correcting intonation and acoustic imperfections, especially the alternating notes B and F in the next stanza. The German style clarinet system has more keys than the Bhem system, divided into 21 keys, 23 keys, 27 keys, and 29 keys, up to 29 in the Voll-Oehler system (full Oehler system).
The mouthpiece and reed of the German style clarinet are also narrower and smaller than the Böhm clarinet, resulting in a slightly different sound and a more focused tone. German style clarinet is mainly used in Germany and Austria. Major developments include patented C key, bass E, F correction, and F/B correction.
Through the above introduction and analysis of German style clarinet, hope it helps you.
